About me and my work
I am Ieva, An artist, A creator, A warrior woman.
I craft pure magic in the form of my wearable 3D works of art with my high-end, ethical knitwear.
My creations come directly from my soul and each limited-edition piece is made with love, heart and power. it is the antidote to conformity and fast fashion.
Emerging from a box that didn’t fit who I was, it wasn’t until I discovered the magic I wield with my knitting needles that I felt myself come fully alive. Knitwear has become my obsession and using my natural wools or recycled yarns, my mission is to give voice to this medium that is far cry from the bland.
Each of my creations has a life of its own and my joy comes from seeing every woman who wears one of my pieces transform before my eyes as the piece adorns her.
I am a creatrix of expression. I help combine the two energies of the masculine and the feminine.
The wearer chooses. The knitted armoury can allow her to show off, take over the world or be soft, toasty and protected
I delight in seeing my clients shapeshift into the expressive, warrior, powerhouse juxtaposed so effortlessly with the joyful, cosy, tactile.
To me, THIS is - Woman.
WHY I DO WHAT I DO
I work to provide wearable works of art that are an antidote to a fast fashion world that advocates modern slavery to produce a sub-standard product to satisfy a mass-consumerized world.
I know where every element of my work comes from. I locally source wool that goes to putting food on the table of their families.
I know my work will be kept forever.
It will be passed down and not thrown in the bin after 3 washes.
To me, this is the only way to work
The ethical way to create
The right thing to do!
Fast fashion is one of the biggest environmental problems right now. People are driven to get the next best thing as fast as possible regardless of the costs. Cheap clothing become ruined after just a few washes, which leads to customers buying again, another cheap product, and the cycle continues.
This inspired me to create bespoke pieces that people would want to keep forever. Knitwear that would last years, bring joy, confidence and won't damage the planet. Every piece is made by hand using natural wool and reclaimed yarns. There is no need to throw away non-natural yarns. The damage to nature has already been done when making them, sending them to the landfill just makes the damage worse.
I want to show that we need to recycle and reclaim old textiles to minimise the damage if we as the human race want to move forward.
